birth chart rectificationBirth time rectification is a procedure that is used in order to determine what time a person was born, when the birth time is unknown or uncertain.

Rectification is important and sometimes necessary because without a birth time, you cannot accurately calculate a person’s birth chart.

By comparing important dates and facts about a person’s life with the different potential birth charts, we can infer the probable time of birth.

Current Availability

I am not currently seeing any new clients, but I have a list of astrologers I recommend here:

I also have a course on rectification available where I teach students how to rectify their birth chart:

My Approach to Rectification

My approach to rectification is to identify some of the main themes and events that have occurred in a person’s life, and then to attempt to match those facts with a chart that falls within the available time frame on the client’s date of birth.

With rectification my primary goal is to determine the correct rising sign, which narrows the birth time down to a 1 to 2 hour time frame.

Sometimes I am able to narrow the time down further, although this is not always possible in every case, and it is not my main goal. Simply determining the correct rising sign is often sufficient in order to calculate the houses and other points in a chart.

Rectification Consultations

A rectification consultation consists of a 75 minute conversation where I ask you a series of questions about events and circumstances in your life. The questions are designed in order to implicate one birth chart or another, thus helping me to narrow down which chart is the correct one.

As the consultation progresses, I apply additional techniques in order to attempt to confirm and fine-tune the birth time that I have determined to be correct. By the end of the consultation we will have arrived at a conclusion, and at the very least you should know your approximate time of birth, within 1 to 2 hours of exact.

Any relevant charts and notes will be emailed to you before and after the consultation. The consultation is recorded, and you will receive a link to download the recording as an MP3 file by email shortly after we have finished talking.

Requirements for a Rectification Consultation

At this time I am only doing rectifications for people who have a general sense of what time of the day they were born in, and would like to have it narrowed down to the correct rising sign, which is a 1 to 2 hour time span.

For example, if you know that you were born sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., then I would be able to help you determine that you were definitely born between 5:10 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.  However, if you only know your date of birth and you do not have any idea what the approximate time of birth might be, then I would not be able to help you.

The reason for this restriction is that while it is possible to rectify a birth chart when the client has no idea of the approximate time of day they were born, it is much more time consuming and difficult. If a person has some idea of the approximate time frame in which they were born then it is much more manageable on the part of the astrologer, and the correct time can be determined in a 75 minute consultation.

Information I Need From You

I will need the following pieces of information from you when we schedule a consultation:

  1. Your birth date – month, day and year (e.g. May 6, 1978).
  2. Location of birth – i.e. the city, state and/or country.
  3. The approximate time that you were born – For example, “sometime after 2:00 p.m., but before 7:00 p.m.” Or “in the morning, around sunrise.”
  4. A chronology of important events – create a list of important dates and time periods in your life. Try to be as exact as possible with the dates when things happened.
