Natal Astrology Consultations
Natal astrology is one of the oldest branches of astrology, dating back to the 5th century BCE in Mesopotamia. Its basic premise is that the nature and course of a person’s life are reflected by the alignment of the planets at the moment of their birth.
Natal astrology assumes, or implies, that our lives are largely predetermined or mapped out ahead of time, to a greater or lesser extent. The main goal of this form of astrology, then, is to study what may be referred to as an individual’s fate.
The primary tool which is utilized in order to accomplish this is a diagram which represents the precise positions of the planets at the moment of the individual’s birth, commonly known as a birth chart or natal chart.

My Approach to Natal Astrology
In my work I utilize a variety of ancient and modern techniques when delineating a natal chart. The basis of my approach is rooted in the Hellenistic astrological tradition, but I also draw on my background in modern astrology regularly, for example with the inclusion of the outer planets. My main focus and interest is on timing and prediction, and although I do incorporate some psychological information into my consultations, I am not trained or certified in psychology and do not purport to offer psychological advice as the main emphasis of my consultations.
I employ a number of Hellenistic and modern timing techniques and general delineation methods in order to provide information about the past, present and future circumstances of the native. The initial approach is usually a general delineation of certain features of the natal chart and general themes in the life of the native, and then later these different areas of the chart are brought together through the application of various timing techniques, such as the Hellenistic time-lord systems, as well as the more modern approaches such as transits and progressions.
In my approach the purpose of delineating a birth chart is to gain a greater understanding of the life direction of the native, their strengths and weaknesses, and the time periods that are likely to be more problematic or fruitful for certain types of activity throughout the course of their life. This information enables a person to have a more complete understanding of the inner workings of their life and the underlying patterns of fate that are built into it, and thus to engage life with a greater sense of purpose and meaning.
How Are Natal Consultations Conducted?
Natal consultations are either done over the phone or through Skype. The consultation usually lasts for about an hour and a half. Prior to the consultation you will be receive an email with a copy of your natal chart, as well as any relevant notes that I have taken in preparation for the consultation. After the consultation is over I will send you an email with a link so that you can download a recording of the consultation in MP3 format.
Birth Data
The following pieces of information are required in order to accurately calculate a natal chart:
- Your birth date - month, day and year (e.g. May 6, 1978).
- Location of birth - i.e. the city, state, and/or country.
- The exact time that you were born - The exact time of birth is extremely important when calculating and interpreting a natal chart, so this must be as close to exact as possible if you wish to receive an accurate reading. Preferably the time should be derived from your birth certificate. Please let me know the source of your birth time and how accurate you think that it is when you schedule the consultation. If you are not certain about your birth time then please let me know.
Cost, Payment, Scheduling, etc.
I charge a flat fee of $100 USD for natal astrology consultations, which covers both the prep-time I take prior the consultation to examine your chart and take some notes on it, as well as the actual consultation itself.
