Electional Astrology Consultations
Electional astrology, also known as 'katarchic' or 'inceptional' astrology, is the adaptation of horoscopic astrology to determine the best time for initiating actions. If anything born or done at a specific moment in time has a birth chart, and that birth chart reflects the nature of the person or system as well as much of its future, then by extension it should be possible to choose specific birth charts or planetary alignments in the future that would be better suited for the success or failure of any given undertaking or project. This is the basic premise underlying electional astrology.

The Method
When a client wants to begin something that has particular importance to them and they have some flexibility as to when to begin this new venture he or she can employ my services to find an electional chart that would be auspicious for what they are trying to start or accomplish. I will then examine the different configurations of the planets during the general time frame that I have to work within and then choose a specific date and time for the client to begin this new venture by choosing the chart that is more suitable for what they are trying to achieve.
A large part of the process is simply determining an astrologically auspicious day and a time that seems to reflect the same theme as what the client wants to start or do. This involves ensuring that the relevant significators in the chart are in strong positions, and also that the future transits, progressions and time-lords indicate that the project or venture will be able to grow and develop without too many hindrances or obstacles.
Although it is not a requirement, it is sometimes important to examine the birth chart of the client(s) who wants to start the venture in order to ensure that the electional chart that is chosen works well with their own natal configurations and predispositions. This is more or less important depending on what kind of election is being done. For example, it would be very important to pay attention to the natal charts of the two people involved if I am electing a chart for a marriage, but it would be less important to look at a natal chart if a corporate client is opening up a new coffee shop, or something along those lines.
In all instances it is important that you be very specific about what you would like to achieve or focus on with this new venture so that the electional chart that is chosen can be directed towards that specific area. Although an electional chart cannot override the basic potential or inherent patterns in a person's natal chart, it can be used to maximize certain strengths and to take advantage of periods of time that are more auspicious for certain endeavours.
Electional Writeups
My electional services usually consist of a written report that provides you with the date and the time that has been decided upon to start your venture, as well as a detailed rationale that explains why I chose that specific date and time from an astrological standpoint, and what the strengths and weaknesses of the venture will be based on the chart that was chosen. Sometimes the client will be given a choice between two different times to start the venture, and an explaination of the strengths and weaknesses of each will be outlined so that they can make an informed decision on which one to go with. The usual price for electional work is $45, unless the client requires something particularly elaborate.
Consultations
Clients also have the option of setting up an appointment to speak with me about the election through one of the mediums listed below if they would like to do so, although usually this is not necessary once the written report is sent and a decent electional chart has been chosen. These additional meetings regarding the electional chart last for somewhere between half an hour to an hour, and there is an additional $45 fee.
Here is a list of some of the different consultation mediums when an additional appointment is requested:
- Over the phone - Telephone consultations are the preferred medium. Consultations over the phone last for approximately an hour and a half, and prior to the consultation you will be emailed a detailed writeup of the notes that I have taken for the consultation along with any relevant charts and handouts in PDF format. For those outside of the U.S. where the costs associated with making a long-distance call are prohibitive, other means of holding a phone consultation are available, such as through internet voice chat programs such as Skype. - Instant messenger - The consultation may take place over an instant messenger program at a scheduled date and time. Consultation notes and relevant charts will be emailed prior to the consultation. Consultations held through an instant messenger program usually for approximately an hour and a half to two hours. Currently available instant messenger services for this option are: AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and Google Talk.
- In person - Consultations may be done in person if you happen to live in Colorado, or if you book a consultation with me ahead of time while I am travelling. Please see my bio page for my current travel schedule and a list of my upcoming appearances. Consultations in person usually last for about an hour and a half, and they come with a written report of the consultation notes which will be emailed to you in PDF form prior to the consultation.
Summary, Pricing and Payment
If you would like to employ my services in order to elect an event for you then send me an email through the email address listed on the contact page explaining the event and its significance to you, as well as the time frame that I have to work within when looking for a suitable date. Usually the wider the timeframe to work within, the better. It would also be helpful if you could put your birth information in the email (date/time/place) as well as the birth information of any other parties who are intimately involved in the event.
When the election is ready I will email you the written report in PDF format along with the chart for the election and any other documents that are related to the election. If you would like to schedule an additional appointment to discuss the election further at this point then arrangements can be made at that time. Please let me know your general availability if you would like to have an additional appointment so that I can schedule it in advance.
The price for basic electional work is $45. If you would like to schedule an additional consultation to discuss the election for an hour or so then it is an additional $45. How do I pay?
Payment is handled through PayPal after you have contacted me about the election by using one of the 'buy now' buttons located on this page. Please contact me through the email address listed on the contact page to confirm the consultation and to work out the details before paying for it through PayPal.
Paypal is a very easy and secure method of transferring funds over the internet. As part of the ordering process you will be directed to the Paypal website for payment. If you do not already have an account with Paypal then you will be given the option of opening an account with them or making a secure payment using your existing credit card. Both services are free to use and they allow you to send money from your bank account to anyone with an email address in over 40 countries.
