The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the ancient Hellenistic tradition astrology, which is a tradition of horoscopic astrology that was practiced from roughly somewhere around the 1st century BCE through the 7th century CE.

The course covers the history and origins of the early traditions of horoscopic astrology, as well as the philosophical, theoretical and technical underpinnings of the system.

Students will finish the course with a strong foundation in the history, techniques and practice of Hellensitic astrology, and with plenty of new timing techniques and practical material to apply to their own astrological practice.

The course provides an introduction to a branch of horoscopic astrology known as 'horary' or 'interrogational' astrology, which is used to answer a single specific question when it is posed to an astrologer.

This course addresses the history and origins of horary, as well as the philosophical, theoretical and technical underpinnings of the system. Students will finish the course with a strong foundation in the history, techniques and practice of horary astrology, and with a solid practical understanding of how to delineate horary charts on their own.
